The project consisted of integrating a multifunctional loft in a garden of an existing house.

 

The owners, when purchasing the lot adjacent to their home, wanted to integrate a new building that had different spaces and was flexible. Because of this, a loft is created that houses the multipurpose lounge, sauna and services on the ground floor, and on the upper floor there is a yoga room, terrace and visiting dormitory.

   

The project starts with the idea of ​​indoor / outdoor flexibility, conceiving the Loft as a dynamic space where the family can carry out different activities, visually preserving the relationship with the existing house.

On the ground floor we have a transparent space that relates to the pool and the existing garden, it was designed a service bar as support, the stairs as a sculptural element, in addition, there is a space to watch TV and a bathroom with sauna located the volume of services at the warehouse. On the upper floor, we have a yoga area, a guest bedroom with a bathroom and a terrace also used for practicing yoga.

The owners' passion for Mexican culture made us select clay cobogós as the main element in the surroundings along with the colors that bring spaces to life.

The result is a dynamic space with a lot of life in which the family can host different events, feeling comfortable with the flexibility and functionality of the design.

​

Formally, they are two orthogonal volumes that respond to the terrain, conceptualized by the apparent metallic structure to integrate with the metal beams that the existing house has on its pergolas. The volume of the upper floor, when housing intimate spaces, is surrounded by a hollow movable surface that can confer greater intimacy according to the user's comfort.
